We are delighted to announce the launching of the Fischoff Educator Award, a complementary benchmark to the Fischoff Competition. This national award will recognize the educational outreach work of Fischoff Competition alumni who have demonstrated outstanding and imaginative programming for children and youth in the United States. The Educator Award will honor past Competition musicians who have established professional careers in chamber music, and have proven their ability to successfully build a career in both music performance and outreach education. All proceeds from the 2010 gala, A Winter’s Masque, support Fischoff’s Arts-in-Education Residencies. These important programs allow thousands of underserved, at-risk and Title I students within our community to discover the arts through imaginative music performances.

A Winter’s Masque is supported by:
Join us as the Red Line Sax Quartet, Gold Medal winners in the Wind division at the 2009 Fischoff Competition, presents a FREE Peanut Butter and Jelly Jam family concert on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the Main Library in downtown South Bend. From 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., the quartet will introduce chamber music to families with young children in an open, public setting. Children are encouraged to dance, touch the instruments, and ask questions to create a musical experience to remember!
