SUMMARY:Cerus Quartet Gold Medal Tour
DESCRIPTION:2025 Fischoff Competition Winds Gold Medal Winner Cerus Quartet returns to the Midwest for their Gold Medal Tour! \nFounded in 2020\, the Cerus Quartet focuses on showcasing the dynamic\, versatile sound worlds of the saxophone quartet\, programming everything from contemporary compositions to transcriptions of traditional repertoire. \nDemonstrating a strong commitment to collaborating with diverse contemporary composers\, Cerus has premiered new works by Karalyn Schubring\, Jennifer Higdon\, and Joey Karz\, with an exciting new piece by Ryan Lindveit forthcoming. Most recently\, the quartet won the Senior Wind Division Gold Medal at the 2025 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. Cerus was also awarded First Prize in the 2024 MTNA National Chamber Music Competition\, Senior Wind Silver Medal in the 2023 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition\, and First Prize and Michigan Prize in the 2023 Briggs Chamber Music Competition. \nPerforming across the U.S. and internationally\, Cerus recently appeared at the Walla Walla Chamber Music Festival\, where they emphasized education and community engagement\, presenting interactive workshops as well as community performances designed to inspire and connect with audiences of all ages and backgrounds. In the summer of 2025\, the quartet participated in the IPR Sound Garden Project\, bringing innovative performances to public and community spaces. They were also featured as concerto soloists with the University of Michigan Symphony Band Chamber Winds\, performing Chen Yi’s Ba Yin. Based in Ann Arbor\, the ensemble is composed of Roberto Campa (soprano saxophone)\, Laura Ramsay (alto)\, Kyle Kato (tenor)\, and Samuel Dishon (baritone). \nTheir name draws from Greek mythology—Cerus was a wild bull transformed by the goddess Persephone\, a story of chaos tamed into beauty. This myth mirrors the quartet’s artistic vision: to reimagine the saxophone as a medium of beauty and expressive depth\, deserving of a central role in 21st-century classical music. \nWebsite: www.cerusquartet.com\nYouTube: @cerusquartet\nInstagram: @cerusquartet \nLearn more about Fischoff’s Double Gold Tour. \nTOUR SCHEDULE:\n¹Free public performance\n²Ticketed public performance\n³Invitation only \nSunday\, September 21\, 4:00 PM (EST)\nDeBartolo Performing Arts Center Presenting Artists Series\,²\nLaBar Family Recital Hall\, O’Neill Music Center\, University of Notre Dame\, Notre Dame\, IN \nMonday\, September 22\nVarious educational outreach programs\, Mishawaka & South Bend\, IN³ \nTuesday\, September 23\nVarious educational outreach programs\, St. Joseph\, MI³ \nWednesday\, September 24\, 12:15 PM (CST)\nDame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series\, Chicago\, IL¹\nBroadcast live on WFMT 98.7FM and streamed live at www.wfmt.com \nThursday\, September 25\nBarrington White House Concert\, Barrington\, IL² \nFriday\, September 26\nVarious educational outreach programs\, Barrington\, IL³ \nSaturday\, September 27\nFischoff Chamber Music Academy Kick-off Meeting\, South Bend\, IN³ \nSunday\, September 28\, 7:00 PM (EST)\nAndrews University\, Howard Performing Arts Series\, Berrien Springs\, MI²\n \nMonday\, September 29\nVarious educational outreach programs\, Mishawaka & South Bend\, IN³ \nTuesday\, September 30\nVarious educational outreach programs\, South Bend\, IN³

SUMMARY:Katarina String Quartet Gold Medal Tour
DESCRIPTION:2025 Fischoff Competition Grand Prize & Strings Gold Medal Winner Katarina String Quartet returns to the Midwest for their Gold Medal Tour! \nGrand Prize winner of the 2025 Fischoff Chamber Music Competition\, the Katarina String Quartet has quickly distinguished itself as one of North America’s most compelling young ensembles. The tightly-knit and community-focused ensemble currently serves as the Graduate Resident String Quartet at The Juilliard School\, where they explore all chamber music\, from contemporary and canonized works to folk tunes. \nThe KSQ is comprised of violinists Jeanel Liang\, Jérôme Chiasson\, violist Celia Morin\, and cellist Maya Enstad\, and was founded in 2022 at McGill University under the tutelage of André Roy. Since then\, the KSQ has worked extensively with members of the Juilliard\, Alban Berg\, Danel\, Dover\, and Pacifica Quartets\, and has participated in prestigious programs such as IMS Prussia Cove and McGill International String Quartet Academy (MISQA). \nThe KSQ’s 2025/26 season includes tours in the United States\, Dubai\, and Europe; performances in and around New York City\, including at Carnegie Hall; and a residency at the Avaloch Farm Institute. Previous seasons have included CMS Kids\, IMS Prussia Cove\, and MISQA. The KSQ are recent ProQuartet Prize and Drimnin String Quartet Academy Prize winners in the 2025 Wigmore Hall String Quartet Competition; previously\, they were Gold Medal and BIPOC prizewinners of the 2024 St. Paul Chamber Music Competition. \nThe KSQ takes its name from luthier Katarina Guarneri\, wife of violin-maker Giuseppe Guarneri del Gesu. Scholars believe that she worked on her husband’s violins during the most productive years of his career. Inspired by Katarina\, the KSQ celebrates the countless people and communities behind the canonized figureheads of classical music that contribute to the art we enjoy. Known for their personable concert presentations and community leadership\, they regularly perform in community centers around New York City as recipients of Juilliard’s Gluck Fellowship. \nWeb: www.katarinastringquartet.com/\nInstagram: @katarinastringquartet \nFacebook: @katarinastringquartet \nLearn more about Fischoff’s Double Gold Tour. \nTOUR SCHEDULE:\n¹Free public performance\n²Ticketed public performance\n³Invitation only \nSunday\, October 12\, 4:00 PM (EST)\nDeBartolo Performing Arts Center Presenting Artists Series\,²\nLaBar Family Recital Hall\, O’Neill Music Center\, University of Notre Dame\, Notre Dame\, IN \nMonday\, October 13\nVarious educational outreach programs\, Mishawaka & South Bend\, IN³\nFischoff Chamber Music Academy Workshop\, 5:45-7:15 PM (EST)\, LaBar Family Recital Hall\, O’Neill Music Center\, University of Notre Dame\, Notre Dame\, IN¹ \nTuesday\, October 14\nOutreach program and performance\, Chicago\, IL³ \nWednesday\, October 15\, 12:15 PM (CST)\nDame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series\, Chicago\, IL¹\nBroadcast live on WFMT 98.7FM and streamed live at www.wfmt.com \nThursday\, October 16\nVarious educational outreach programs\, Elkhart & Goshen\, IN³ \nFriday\, October 17\nVarious educational outreach programs\, St. Joseph\, MI³ \nSaturday\, October 18\nMasterclass & Guest Recital\, 5:00 PM (CST)\, Valparaiso University Center for the Arts\, Valparaiso\, IN¹ \nSunday\, October 19\nMasterclass & Music at the Fort Concert Series\, 6:00 PM (CST)\, Midwest Young Artists Conservatory\, Highwood\, IL¹
