Oh What a Night!

s Ida and Perry Watson, a full house gathered in South Bend's beautifully restored historic Palais Royale ballroom. Fischoff Competition 2009 Gold Medal Winners, the Red Line Saxophone Quartet, gave a stunning performance including works by Maklanka, Pierne, and Barber. The audience was surprised and delighted by the opening selection, performed in call-and-response fashion with tenor saxophonist Qun Gai playing from a balcony high above the ballroom. Later in the evening, soprano saxophonist Doug O'Connor jammed with the dance band. A select silent auction was highlighted by Emese Ronay Rivera's painting, Baroque.
Fischoff's annual gala is our only major fundraising event. Saturday's event featured our largest and most successful fundraiser ever, and monies raised will ensure funding for this year's educational outreach programs. In these extraordinary economic times, we are humbled by your generosity. Thank you for your loyal support!
