Winner's Tour

2012 - 2013

In 2012 - 2013, Fischoff was pleased to again present both the Senior Division gold medalists in a Winners' Tour of the Midwestern United States, including concerts, master classes, workshops and children's programs. Ensembles included Barkada Quartet and Tesla Quartet. The tour took place October 20-28, 2012.

2011 - 2012

2010 in Review

In 2010, the Fischoff Winner’s Tour took a different and exciting turn. Both Gold Medal winners from the Senior Division of the 2010 Fischoff Competition, the Old City String Quartet and the Angeles Saxophone Quartet, returned for a new Double Gold Tour. This was an enlargement of the annual Grand Prize Winner's Midwest Tour and included concerts, masterclasses, workshops and children’s programs for both the top Fischoff winners.

The Old City String Quartet outreach concentrated on high school string programs in the area, while the Angeles Saxophone Quartet presented music workshops and featured Niki Daly’s book, Ruby Sings the Blues, for Fischoff’s S.A.M. I Am programs to several elementary schools in our community.  View photos of the tours by clicking here.

Additionally, during the summer of 2011, the Old City String Quartet traveled to Italy to participate in the Emilia Romagna Festival.  Fischoff and the Emilia Romagna Festival have formed a collaboration that makes it possible for the Fischoff Grand Prize Winner to participate in the annual summer music festival.  Concerts are presented throughout the Emilia Romagna region of Italy in unique venues, including historic buildings, great homes, churches, and even courtyards.  The tour provides wonderful opportunities, experiences and connections for these talented young chamber musicians.
