Prizes


Ensembles will compete for cash prizes totaling $37,500. 

Grand Prize - $13,500

$10,000 cash prize (sponsored by John & Jeny Sejdinaj), plus $3,500 Gold Medal from the winning division below. The Winner also receives a Winner's Tour of the Midwestern United States and select appearances at the Emilia Romagna Festival in Italy during the following summer. Senior Division ensembles must be available to participate in the Winner's Tour to be eligible for the Grand Prize.

Senior String Division (an additional $3,500 is awarded to the non-grand prize winner upon completion of the Winner's Tour.)

Gold Medal and $3,500 cash prize (sponsored by Deirdre Mylod and Paul Worland)
Silver Medal and $3,000 cash prize (sponsored by the Burkhart Miller Family)
Bronze Medal and $2,000 cash prize (endowed by The Barbara Shields Byrum Fund)

Senior Wind Division (an additional $3,500 is awarded to the non-grand prize winner upon completion of the Winner's Tour.)

Florence V. Carroll Junior Division

1st Place Prize and Gold Medal - $2,300 (sponsored by Bill and Shirley Garber) plus an opportunity to perform on From the Top, a weekly, hour-long radio showcase of America's top young classical musicians hosted by acclaimed pianist Christopher O'Riley and distributed by National Public Radio to nearly 250 stations nationwide
2nd Place Prize and Silver Medal - $1,800 cash prize (sponsored by Ann and Paul Divine)
3rd Place Prize and Bronze Medal - $1,300 cash prize (sponsored by Marijke Niles and Family)
American Brass Quintet Wind Prize - $500 cash prize (sponsored by American Brass Quintet)
Geoffroy Prize (Local Award) - $600 cash prize (sponsored by Patricia Geoffroy)

Honorable Mention Prize - $500 cash prize (sponsored by Lynne Stettbacher Fund), awarded at the discretion of the jury.

 

 

Tours


The Fischoff Double Gold Tour

In addition to the Grand Prize Winner's Midwest Tour, Fischoff will present a tour of the Midwest featuring the corresponding Senior Division Gold Medalist.
